The Beach Boys music, which makes an impression with the impressive vocal harmonies and unique sound, has been part of America's musical history for over six decades. Memorial Day weekend, 2024, Disney+ will premiere The Beach Boys documentary.
Beginning May 24, The Beach Boys documentary can be streamed on Disney+. This is a celebration of the band, formed in 1961 by brothers Brian, Dennis, and Carl Wilson, their cousin Mike Love, and friend Al Jardine. Their original sound, dubbed California Sound, reflected the culture of surfing, cars, and romance.
The documentary, directed by Frank Marshall and Thom Zimny, begins with their humble beginnings. It features never-before-seen footage and new interviews with Brian Wilson, Mike Love, Al Jardine, David Marks, Bruce Johnston, and other notable names in the music business, including Lindsey Buckingham, Janelle Monae, Ryan Tedder, and Don Was.
Fans will also hear from the late Carl and Dennis Wilson in their own words and the movie features a new interview with former singer and guitarist Blondie Chaplin and audio from former drummer Ricky Fataar.

In 1963, the band had their first national hit with "Surfin' U.S.A," which peaked at No. 2 on Music Vendor and No. 3 on Billboard and Cash Box. The song, a new version of Chuck Berry's "Sweet Little Sixteen," was named Billboard's top single of 1963.
With over 100 million records sold worldwide, The Beach Boys is one of the most commercially successful and critically acclaimed bands in the world. The band, which was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988, has influenced other artists across multiple musical genres. Since their formation, they have amassed 36 US Top 40 singles, with four topping the Billboard Hot 100. The Beach Boys are also recipients of the Recording Academy’s Lifetime Achievement GRAMMY Award.
The Beach Boys' eleventh studio album, Pet Sounds, is considered one of the greatest and most influential albums in music history despite a tepid response upon its release. This ambitious work is recognized for its sophisticated music and emotional lyrics.
