Billboard reports that the late Canadian singer-songwriter Gordon Lightfoot’s final album will be released on July 14, 2023. The singer was known for his folk/folk rock/country music style and significantly influenced folk-pop music from the ‘60s and ‘70s. The double album is titled At Royal Albert Hall.

Recorded during his seventh concert at Royal Albert Hall in London, one of Lightfoot’s favorite venues, on May 24, 2016, the album marks his fourth live album. In a press release, At Royal Albert Hall has been described as a live mix of the performance on that night free from edits, overdubs, remixing, or resequencing. The album captures the concert exactly as it was intended, complete with the encore by Lightfoot and his band, including Rick Haynes on bass, Barry Keane on drums, Mike Heffernan on keys, and Carter Lancaster on guitar.

Lightfoot’s fans will be pleased to learn that the 26-track album contains four of his most popular singles, including  “If You Could Read My Mind,” “Sundown,” “Carefree Highway,” and “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.”

Before his death on May 1, 2023, Lightfoot instructed that the live album be released as soon as possible without any changes to the recording. He also approved the cover artwork. Fans can pre-order At Royal Albert Hall via Linus Entertainment.
