Duran Duran Appreciation Day takes place worldwide each year on August 10. The day was established in 2003 by a Michigan DJ because it fell on his birthday. The band has been together for decades, giving them an impressive number of hit songs.

Part of the second British Invasion, Duran Duran formed in Birmingham in 1978 and, by May 1980, would settle on the final lineup of Roger Taylor (drums), Nick Rhodes (keyboards), Simon Le Bon (vocals), Andy Taylor (guitar) and John Taylor (bass). The band has experienced many changes in the lineup over the years, with all of the original members, minus Andy Taylor, as current members.

Fans around the world celebrate Duran Duran appreciation day by posting on social media and listening to their favorite DD tunes. Don't miss the special LIVE recording of "Last Chance On The Stairway" from the May 2023 performance in Dublin. Duran Duran shared the recording for DDAD23.

Duran Duran has sold over 100 million records and achieved 30 top 40 hits on the UK Charts with 14 top 10 singles. On Billboards Hot 100, they have achieved 21 top 40 singles. Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame 2022, the band has earned many awards, including two Brit Awards, two Grammys, an MTV Video Music Award for Lifetime Achievement, and the Video Visionary Award from the MTV Europe Music Awards.
