The Eagles is an American rock band that formed in Los Angeles in the early 1970s. The band has had five number-one singles and six number-one albums throughout their career. Do you remember which album was their first No. 1?

The founding members of the Eagles were Glenn Frey (guitars, vocals), Don Henley (drums, vocals), Bernie Leadon (guitars, vocals), and Randy Meisner (bass guitar, vocals). The group was originally recruited as band members for Linda Ronstadt, some of which toured with her and all playing on her third solo album. They then set out sans Ronstadt to form the Eagles, with Asylum Records, David Geffen's new label.

In 1975, the band released their fourth studio album, One of These Nights, which would become its first No. 1 album in the US and top 10 albums in many other countries. This album included the No. 1 hit "One of These Nights," their first top 10 hit outside North America, and "Lyin' Eyes" and "Take It to the Limit," both top five songs in the US.

The album was a huge success and was a fantastic blend of rock, country, and folk styles expected of the band, but this album was the next phase, making it even better than anything else they had created previously. Selling four million copies, the album was nominated for Grammy Album of the Year and "Lyin' Eyes" for Record of the Year and won the band's first Grammy for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals.

One of These Nights would be the final album with the original lineup as Leadon left the band and was replaced by Joe Walsh. Leadon departed due to the band's shift to mainstream rock instead of country. The album also added Don Felder, who would single lead on "Visions," the seventh single on the album.

The album cover for One of These Nights was an image of artwork by Boyd Elder, aka El Chingadero. Gary Burden, who designed the Eagles' previous three album covers, was friends with Elder and wanted to feature his work on this album. Elder submitted two, one of which is featured on the cover, and another of his pieces would be featured on The Greatest Hits album.
