As the years roll on, kids of the 1990s are becoming acutely aware of their age, especially with the relentless barrage of nostalgia tours targeting us. Take for instance the upcoming spectacle: Weezer embarking on a celebratory journey this fall, marking the 30th anniversary of their iconic self-titled debut album, affectionately known as the Blue Album.

Weezer is not just performing snippets; they're treating fans to the whole enchilada, with additional acts like the Flaming Lips and Dinosaur Jr. joining the fray. Weezer's debut album arrived in 1994, during what NPR has called the "grunge gold rush". Yet, to most ears, Weezer sounded "alternative" (in some sense) without really sounding like grunge. In a way, Weezer was (and perhaps still is) among the titans of alt-rock that's catchy, a little mopey, and easy to grasp.

Named the Voyage To The Blue Planet Tour, it's a Weezer-based adventure traversing North America.
Commencing in September, this extravaganza follows hot on the heels of Weezer's UK tour with Smashing Pumpkins, demonstrating their keen understanding of their 1990s nostalgia-craving audience. For those eager to secure their spot, ticket details are readily available on Weezer's website, and presumably to those subscribed to the band's mailing list.

More details on the Weezer Voyage To The Blue Planet Tour

For an intimate experience, Weezer graced the Lodge Room in Los Angeles on Friday the 15th, March 2024, where they surely delighted fans by performing the Blue Album in its entirety once again. Joining them on stage was Dogstar — yes, the band featuring none other than Keanu Reeves.
The connection runs deep; both bands shared the stage at Dogstar's inaugural performance in 1992, as reminisced by Dogstar on Instagram.
